(This week I'm not commenting the Photosynthesis images I will publish but rather am letting my models comment them and talk about the experience of shooting for this project.)
I have always been fascinated by the interaction between natural and built environments, between human and nature. When a friend showed me Ben’s work, I thought it was wonderful and it resonated with my values.
I contacted him and we chatted about the idea behind each set of shots and what was more suitable for my hair and figure. On the day of the shooting, I was very excited but a bit nervous as I had never done one before, especially not fully naked.
Ben put me at ease during the entire evening and it was fun to not only follow guidances but suggest some poses, occasionally with help from a friend of mine who asked to attend. I thought at the time that I probably wasn’t a great model, but I had a great time!
The outcome left me stunned, I really loved some of the pictures. Ben and I discussed the images, and getting his feedback led me to reconsider some I had initially disregarded. One of those is now one of my favourite. The images allowed me to see myself with different eyes and it was a beautiful thing.
